Royston Heath
Description and Walk
Royston Heath, AKA Therfield Heath, is a very popular destination for walkers, dog-walkers, picnickers, archers, rounders players, and gazebo packing family gatherings. In fact, on a warm day the place seems unusually populated with people committed to enjoying themselves with gentle pastimes. Royston Heath has a nice atmosphere about the place.
Our video, below, gives a good idea of what to expect when you get there, but the Heath also stretches across the hills to Royston Golf Club, and walkers can either choose to remain local or else stroll back over the undulating grasses toward the A505 and into stray golf ball territory.
The Heath offers a couple of natural plateaus and fields which are perfect for picnics and family gatherings. This year, 2020 (and maybe every other year) the Cafe Bar has setup a beer tent and outside dining area to make the best of the summer weather.
This is a recommended location.

Place/s to Eat
Something of a no-brainer here. The Heath Cafe Bar is very popular and sits right in the middle of the Heath.

Alternatively, for those who enjoy traditional fine dining, there is a McDonald's about half a mile away. It's on the roundabout where Baldock Road meets the A505.
