Willington to Great Barford Along The Great Ouse
Description and Walk
From the Danish camp at Willington there are at least three very pleasant walks you can take near to the River Ouse. We have another one listed here - Opens in new tab.
This walk is from Willington to Great Barford and back again. It takes about 3/4 - 1 hour to walk each way.
To do the walk, simply walk past the Danish camp along the tarmac path keeping the river on your left. As our video shows this will take you past a weir and lock, along farmers' fields, over a couple of small wooden bridges, and then across a large, green steel one. The river stays in view all the way along.
At the end of the walk you can sit on the green by the Great Barford bridge where people take to their canoes, or visit The Anchor pub were you can get a meal or a pint to enjoy on the premises, or else to take across the road to drink beside the river.
